She Let Go…

I came across this poem and wanted to share it with you. It’s easy to over-analyze and hold on to things in our life, enjoy this poem about letting go.

She Let Go

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.  She let go of the judgments.  She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.  She let go of the committee of indecision within her.  She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go.  She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go.  She let go of all of the memories that held her back.  She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.  She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

TEFL ONLINE: A Review of the i-to-i TEFL Professional 120 Hour Course

First, I’ll share that some years ago, I had the opportunity to teach English through AmeriCorps. I loved the experience (click here to learn more) but it was not my chosen career path, I work in the sciences. Recently, taking into account my upcoming travels, I decided to focus again on English teaching. This time I wanted to get certified.

The Struggle:

The availability of online  and in-class TEFL certification programs is overwhelming. It’s easy to get lost in the various program offerings: CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESOL, ESOL and the list goes on. The prices range from $75 USD to the thousands of dollars depending on the program and location.

The Decision:

Let the World Adventures Begin!!

Finally, I’m counting down to my next adventure which begins in Milan, Italy. I graduated from college and the transition has been interesting; my life is no longer defined by semesters or summer/spring/fall breaks. And while graduating and finding employment was my goal, I had not taken into account that big girl/boy jobs don’t provide the much needed life breaks I had become accustomed to over my long college experience.

Feels like Christmas– almost. Its like I got the PlayStation but no games to play. Now I have to make use of this opportunity. How much $$ will I need? When will I go? Where will I stay? Look for jobs now or wait???

Once I jump one hurdle, there is always another!!! But today I will just sit on the track and plan my next adventure! 😉

A Review of IVHQ Guatemala; Volunteering in Antigua

Volunteering in Guatemala was a great choice. Although my trip involved some class work, I am glad I was able to accomplish two goals. First, I was able to travel and meet some amazing people doing amazing things to help those in need. Second, I was able to complete the project that was the last milestone for completing my Master’s degree.

Ostello Bello Hostel

MiLaN, ItaLy

Fashion Capital of the World!! Going to Milan, from The States, only requires a US passport. The currency is the Euro. We flew into MXP Airport and took the Malpensa Express to the Milano Centrale station. From the Milano Centrale you can get to anywhere in Milan. The monument to see is the Duomo. It is not the Notre Dame of Paris (my fav) but it is an astonishing cathedral

New York City!! Anniversary SURPRISE!!

It’s our anniversary, We headed to New York for– NYC Restaurant Week. He planned a weekend that included all the things I love: a broadway show, good food, and shopping.  We saw Memphis on Broadway, ate at Megu and Bill’s, and shopped.

New York City is one of my favorite destinations.  I hail from upstate NY yet it doesn’t get the same attention as the city and for good reason. The atmosphere in the city is always fascinatingly chaotic. It’s diverse, it’s obnoxious, it’s crowded, it’s different but amazing!!
