It’s our anniversary, We headed to New York for– NYC Restaurant Week. He planned a weekend that included all the things I love: a broadway show, good food, and shopping. We saw Memphis on Broadway, ate at Megu and Bill’s, and shopped.
New York City is one of my favorite destinations. I hail from upstate NY yet it doesn’t get the same attention as the city and for good reason. The atmosphere in the city is always fascinatingly chaotic. It’s diverse, it’s obnoxious, it’s crowded, it’s different but amazing!!
I have been to NYC on several occasions and each visit is different. There is always something new to see and explore and there is never enough time to see it all.
When in the city, I recommend traveling using the underground subway system. From the airport, I head straight to a Metrocard Kiosk and reload as necessary. It may just be bad media but I prefer the subway over taxis. The subway is less expensive and it is a reliable means to get you to most parts of the city. Also if you are an observant traveler, the quirky activities that seem to be the norm for residents of the city will be sure to be entertaining. Don’t forget your hand sanitizer!!
Attractions on this visit was mainly in the tourist areas: the theater district (love). If you are headed to the city have fun!! And do go to the top of the Empire State Building, the views are magnificent.
